Series 2000

Key Features

  • Compact Lightweight 'monobloc' Design
  • 4 Bolt Hole Mounting
  • 2-way, 3-way & 4-way Configurations
  • Solid Shaft & Hollow Shaft
  • Gear Ratios: 1:1, 2:1 & 3:1
  • Case-hardened and ground alloy-steel shafts
  • Can be mounted on end flanges
  • Sealed for Life, Maintenance free

These ultra compact low torque bevel gearboxes are designed to be lightweight and offer flexible mounting options through it's 'monobloc' housing. This bevel gearbox is perhaps best described as a popular multi-purpose bevel gearbox that has been specified across a very broad range of applications.

The 4 bolt hole design of the 2000 series provides improved mounting stability when compared to the 3 bolt hole design of the 4000 series.

Bevel Gears
The GLEASON spiral bevel gears, of case-hardened alloy steel, provide an advancing, simultaneous mesh across several adjacent teeth, thereby ensuring smooth, evenly distributed, high load transmission, which is enhanced by, bi-directional, “running-in”, in pairs.

Shafts
Shafts are of case-hardened and ground alloy-steel. Exceptions are: both, the smallest casting sizes, types 2000 & 2002 and types 2012 & 2028, where shafts are all of hardened and temperated, low alloy-steel. All shafts are carried by generously sized, high quality, deep groove, ball bearings of established make.

Design Speed & Life
Optimum performance, at continuous full rated power transmission, is based on an input-shaft design-speed of 1400 RPM. This provides an average, trouble-free, operating design-life of 10,000 hours. However, where units are used as speed “increasers”, optimum performance, “input” design-speed is reduced to 500 RPM for the 3:1 ratios and, to 750 RPM for the 2:1 ratios. For all the types 4-way and 3-way independent shaft with a gear ratio difference of 1:1, the input shaft is the shaft A or C, where as the output shaft is B and D.

Operating Temperature
Operating case-temperature should be kept within the permissible limit of -18º C to +80ºC (0ºF to 170ºF), to ensure trouble-free running.

Quiet Running
Close tolerance gear cutting and high accuracy assembly ensures extremely low operating noise levels, even at high running speeds.

Alignment Accuracy
Standard unit, final gear assembly, angular clearances are held to within 15’ – 30’ of arc.

Lubrication
All units are supplied fully charged with oil. The 2000 series is lubricated with synthetic oil. The lubrication is for life, they do not need replenishments or changes for all the lifetime of the gear.

For solid shaft bevel gearbox configurations:

  • 2 Way configurations D1 and D2
  • 3 Way configurations D1, D2 and D1/2
  • 4 Way configurations D1/2

Available hollow shaft configurations:

  • 3 Way configurations D1/2

Please refer to the configurations page in the Neeter Drive Range-P Bevel Gearbox Catalogue.

There are no special design features available for the Range-P bevel gearboxes. For a special design bevel gearbox please view the Neeter Drive Range-N.

Series 2000 Manual Disengage/Reversing

Key Features

  • Compact lightweight 'monobloc' Design
  • 4 Bolt Hole Mounting
  • 2-way, 3-way configurations
  • Manual disengage or reverse rotation of output drive shaft
  • 3 Positive control positions drive, neutral and reverse
  • Gear Ratios: 1:1, 2:1
  • Case-hardened and ground alloy-steel shafts
  • Can be mounted on end flanges
  • Sealed for Life, Maintenance free

The manual disengage / reverse version of the Series 2000 bevel gearbox is designed for use in applications where shaft reversal or a stationary neutral must be performed mechanically.

The bevel gearbox effectively has 3 possible drive states of "forward", "Neutral / Idle / Free-Wheel" or "reverse".

Generally has the same basic design as the standard 2000 series of bevel gearboxes with the added facility, within the housing, for manual disconnection or “reversed rotation” re-engagement of the output drive shaft.

This is effected by hand rotation of a control knob located on one side of the housing to provide 3 positive control positions. The control knob can engage with the straight bevel gears in 3 positions:

  • “Central position”: the drive output is fully disconnected allowing it to “idle” or “free-wheel”.
  • “Left position”: engagement in one direction to provide forward output rotation.
  • “Right position”: engagement in the other direction to provide reverse output rotation.

Note: manual engagement & disengagement must ONLY be carried out when all shafts and, particularly, the output shafts are stationary (unless, both driving and driven inertias are small - and, even then, speeds should not exceed 200 RPM).

For solid shaft bevel gearbox configurations:

  • 2 Way with output shaft at 900 to input shaft
  • 3 Way with output shaft at 900 to input shaft
  • 3 Way with output shaft at 1800 to input shaft (i.e. in-line with input shaft)

Please refer to the configurations page in the Neeter Drive Range-P Bevel Gearbox Catalogue.

There are no special design features available for the Range-P bevel gearboxes. For a special design bevel gearbox please view the Neeter Drive Range-N.

Series 4000

Key Features

  • Compact lightweight 'monobloc' Design
  • 3 Bolt Hole Mounting
  • 2-way and 3-way configurations
  • Solid Shaft
  • Gear Ratios: 1:1 & 2:1
  • Case-hardened and ground alloy-steel shafts
  • Can be mounted on end flanges
  • Sealed for Life, Maintenance free

These ultra compact low torque bevel gearboxes are designed to be lightweight and offer flexible mounting options through it's 'monobloc' housing. This bevel gearbox is perhaps best described as a popular multi-purpose bevel gearbox that has been specified across a very broad range of applications.

The 3 bolt hole design of the 4000 series was the original small monobloc bevel gearbox and is still popular today for existing applications although the 2000 series now offers an improved design for new projects or upgrades.
