Investment in Rapid Prototype Development at Power Jacks

Investment in Rapid Prototype Development at Power Jacks

As part of Power Jacks plans for improved product development the company has recently invested in a new 3D Printing machine. This new facility brings a previously subcontracted service in-house adding to the on-site facilities that Power Jacks engineering team have for research and development.

“By accelerating the prototyping process, we aim to enhance our efficiency, reduce development timelines, and ultimately provide our customers with more effective engineering outcomes.” Says Engineering Manager, Jason Fong.

Prior to the investment the engineering team had conducted intense research on the best machine for the company. The chosen Bambu Lab 3D Printing machine integrated well with Power Jacks SolidWorks 3D CAD platform and the research allowed for a swift installation and commissioning process. In one commissioning test engineers printed a 5kN E-Series screw jack worm gear and worm shaft simultaneously.

“Once cleaned up, the gear set fitted perfectly into the screw jack housing with a lifting screw running smoothly through the gear.” Says product development engineer, Armand Leibbrandt.

This investment reinforces Power Jacks dedication to staying at the forefront of engineering design and the continuous improvement of product performance delivered to our customers. It also demonstrates our commitment to research, development and manufacturing in Great Britain.
