Operations Coordinator

Due to continued growth Power Jacks is looking for a Operations Coordinator at our busy factory in Westhill

Overview

This role, reporting directly to the Production Planning Manager and involves:

  • Support Operations in the issuing of work packs, containing all relevant documentation required for manufacture, assembly and test of company products.
  • Support Operations in the quick turnaround of NCRs and Manufacturing related queries.
  • Actively participate in all continuous improvement activities that support improvement in production and product build areas.
  • Support Operations in the identification of areas that affect on time delivery.
  • Support audit processes internally.
  • Close liaison with shop-floor Machine and Assembly Shop Supervisors, Suppliers and other key members of operations Team to support high overall standards of customer service is required.

Responsibilities

  • Issuing of Production Job Cards / Work-packs to Production.
  • Issuing, reviewing and weekly reporting on shortages sheet.
  • Qualifying product supply Lead Time to Sales Team.
  • MRP System (Syspro) Management – updating capacity / raising jobs on MRP.
  • Stock order checks.
  • Expediting products through the workshop.
  • Reviewing and issuing of production Utilisation Numbers.
  • Daily Check on production jobs and any overruns.
  • Quality system activities – Input and Review of NCR’s into QMS system (QPulse).
  • Ensure customers are kept updated regarding the status and delivery of their orders.
  • Ensure all production data is accurate, i.e. manufacturing routings, actual hours booked to work, materials issued to jobs etc, and ensure all production orders are closed when work is complete to ensure correct information is always available for others to view.
  • Work closely with: manufacturing, production planners, buyers, project teams, stores, quality inspection and engineering to ensure orders are expediently progressed through the factory.
  • Ensure agreed objectives and targets are achieved.
  • To work within ISO 9001 and Quality Management system guidelines.
  • Any other general or associated tasks as required, which job holder has been trained to do and which complies with company’s Health and Safety policies and procedures.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Competence in Microsoft Office package.
  • Practical Knowledge and experience of production processing, in particular machining, is desirable.
  • Experience of ERP/MRP systems desirable.
  • Experience of Quality Management Systems and Software preferred.
  • Audit training to ISO 9001:2008 standards.
  • Displays a methodical approach to work and is able to prioritise workload to meet deadlines.
  • Excellent written/verbal communication skills, able to communicate effectively with internal and external customers.
  • Formal business academic qualification preferable.
