Senior Sales Administrator

Great opportunity to join our Commercial Team as a Senior Sales Administrator.


We are looking for a commercially minded Senior Sales Administrator, who will be responsible for supporting and developing our commercial sales activities working alongside our existing sales team. Key to success will be the ability to build strong sales relationships, understand customer requirements and build trust through effective communication and stakeholder management. The successful candidate will demonstrate a high level of professionality and the ability to effectively represent the company in all commercial and technical aspects of the sales process. This role will suit someone looking to develop their commercial sales career within the engineering market.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Sales administration / enquiry processing
  • Product cost estimation for quotation purposes
  • Prepare, issue & expedite / follow up on quotations
  • Timely and accurate maintenance of company systems as required
  • Provide the focal point at Power Jacks headquarters for designated accounts where appropriate
  • Coordinate with internal departments to meet customer requests
  • Identify sales opportunities throughout course of work and communicate to the Sales Manager / Director as appropriate
  • Commit to work towards achieving department KPI’s and personal targets and objectives as agreed
  • Actively contribute to the development of sales growth strategies & plans
  • Report on specific areas of the sales channel – orders won, quotes completed, client performance
  • Be able to offer a practical approach to problem solving
  • Analyse products, processes, systems, customers and competitors as part of the company’s development plans as required
  • Communicate effectively and regularly (through informal/formal reports, email etc) with customers, colleagues and management on all issues which may impact positively & negatively upon the company’s business, operation and market position
  • Attend and contribute to department meetings, planning and development of company
  • Acquire a detailed and thorough knowledge of the company’s products, processes, quality and safety standards sufficient to enable you to effectively and confidently discuss enquiries, orders and projects with customers and other Power Jacks staff

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Strong understanding of selling engineering products
  • Able to read and understand purchase orders and enquiries
  • Experience in preparing quotations for customers
  • Good understanding of commercial / sales documentation (eg- contracts, terms & conditions)
  • Experience of working in a sales environment, and displaying a strong customer focus
  • Strong PC skills, proficient in all Microsoft Office packages, ideally with some knowledge of Syspro MRP system and SalesForce CRM system
  • Formal qualification or relevant experience in engineering (desirable)
  • Able to read technical drawings, understand BOMs and estimate cost of the manufacture of products (desirable)
