How to Select, Specify and Purchase an ATEX Screw Jack, Gearbox or Actuator?

Each application for ATEX-rated or UKEX-rated linear motion or mechanical power transmission equipment is individually assessed by Power Jacks engineers to ensure the solution is suitable for the intended hazardous environment and application requirements.

The process begins with the customer providing the full application details, allowing our engineers to agree the specification and assess the most suitable screw jack, gearbox or linear actuator design. This may include design variations, modifications and the integration of ATEX-rated third-party components such as motors, reduction gearboxes and sensors.

Once the design is agreed, a quotation is provided. Following receipt of an order, detailed design work is completed, including a general arrangement drawing and product specification for customer approval before manufacture.

Once approved, the screw jack is manufactured to the agreed ATEX-rated design and supplied with the appropriate agreed ATEX certification.

1. Application Details – Customer provides full requirements.

2. Engineering Assessment – Application and ATEX requirements are assessed.

3. Design & Quotation – Suitable design is agreed and quoted.

4. Order & Detailed Design – Detailed drawings and specifications are prepared for approval.

5. Manufacture – Product is manufactured to the approved ATEX design.

6. Certification & Supply – Completed product is supplied with the agreed ATEX certification.
