What are the Customer Responsibilities for ATEX Applications?

ATEX compliance is a shared responsibility. Once ATEX-certified equipment leaves Power Jacks facility, customers must ensure the following:

• The equipment is installed in accordance with Power Jacks’ Instructions for Use and any stated Specific Conditions of Use.
• Any electrical components (motors, sensors, brakes, etc.) connected to the mechanical assembly carry their own valid ATEX certification appropriate for the zone.
• Regular inspection and maintenance are carried out as specified in the Instructions for Use. Note that any maintenance that degrades the Ex-protection (e.g. replacing seals with non-rated alternatives, unauthorised modifications, etc.) will invalidate the certification.
• Any modifications to the Power Jacks supplied equipment after delivery must be evaluated by Power Jacks before the ATEX marking remains valid.
• The equipment is used only within the operating parameters specified at the time of certification (load, speed, duty cycle, ambient temperature range, etc..).
